The gifts long forgotten

What the world needs now is peace & love
Without that, no one will ever be happy

Even the animals, the trees & flowers will be gloomy

The mountains will tremble

The seas & rivers will weep

The winds will holler

What our children need now is peace & love

But who’s going to give them

If their parents and all those around them

Are waiting for someone to give them peace & love

Just take a minute, close our eyes

Shut off our minds from worldly issues

And reach deep down into our hearts

On the day we were born

We have been gifted with peace & love

Overpowered by anger, jealousy & hatred

These gifts have been buried in our inner graves

And long forgotten

Let’s wake up before it’s too late
Start giving and sharing these gifts

They will never be exhausted

They’ve been created in such a way

That the more we give, the more they multiply

If we don’t share peace & love with others

They’ll be buried forever
